Most people think of adventure elopements as a single-day experience. But what if you didn’t have to rush it? What if your “wedding day” could be stretched out, savored, and packed with everything you love?
Ayra and Miguel eloped in Lake Tahoe the day before this session — you can see their full elopement day here — but they weren’t quite done soaking it all in. They knew they wanted to see more of Lake Tahoe, chase a few more views, and ride that just-married high a little longer. So, they decided on a two-day adventure elopement and booked an after session for the next day. And it was EPIC.

A Second Day, A New Adventure
On their actual elopement day, we skipped a certain trail because of timing and terrain. But they couldn’t stop thinking about it, so the next day, we laced up our boots and went for it. The trail itself is short but steep, winding up to panoramic views of the lake that feel like standing on the edge of the world.
These two are total champs. Ayra was actually three months pregnant at the time (you’d never guess from the way she scrambled up boulders), and Miguel was right there with her the whole way, soaking in every second.

Another Chance to Savor the Moments
Ayra had also forgotten her bouquet on their wedding day. So we brought it back for this session. It might seem like a small detail, but it was important to her, and it was a reminder that sometimes a second day gives you the space to capture what you missed, what you want more of, and what you’ll never forget.
Not everything fits into one day. And it doesn’t have to.
You can exchange vows and take portraits on day one, then save something completely different for day two! Maybe it’s a tougher hike, a cold plunge, a lazy morning, or stargazing long after the sun’s gone down.

Golden Hour, a Comet, and a Bear?
Just as the sun started dipping behind the ridges, the sky turned gold and the wind picked up. It was dramatic and cinematic, everything you hope for in a mountain sunset session.
Then, on the hike down, we had a bit of a wild surprise. A bear crossed the trail ahead of us. We stayed calm, made noise, and gave the bear space and it walked right on by like we weren’t even there.
After that, we looked up and spotted the ATLAS comet! We ended the evening capturing some truly one-of-a-kind star photos of Ayra and Miguel beneath the cosmos.
Being open to more creative moments like this (stars, night hikes, the unexpected) is what makes two-day adventure elopements so special. When you give yourself more time, you make space for magic you can’t plan.

Why You Might Want an After Session Too
If you’re eloping in Lake Tahoe (or anywhere with views that make you want to stay forever), you don’t have to cram it all into one day. You can stretch it out. Explore a little more. Hike somewhere you didn’t have time for. Get creative.
And honestly? Some of the most relaxed, emotional, and creative images come from day two, when the ceremony is behind you and you can just be. No pressure. No schedule. Just you, your person, and the wild around you.

Why Do a Two-Day Elopement?
Because one day doesn’t always feel like enough.
Two-day adventure elopements give you room to:
- Explore more than one epic location
- Save the trickier hike or remote spot for another day
- Get creative with different lighting (like sunrise and stars)
- Include a more relaxed session without the ceremony nerves
- Soak up more time together without a packed timeline
- Let your elopement breathe and evolve without being rushed

So, Are Two-Day Adventure Elopements Your Style?
Whether you’re dreaming of stargazing, a summit hike, or just a quiet trail by a hidden lake, Tahoe was made for this. Your wedding day doesn’t have to be a blur. When adventure is part of your story, it deserves the time and space to unfold.
One day or two. Pre-wedding or post. Whatever pace fits you, we’ll build something that feels true to who you are. I’ll handle the planning, you just bring the curiosity.
Ayra and Miguel’s story is proof: a two-day adventure elopement isn’t “extra.” It’s intentional. And it might be the best decision you didn’t know you could make.
