An absolute dreamland for couples looking for a stunning, intimate, and adventure-packed wedding experience.
Ayra & Miguel’s elopement in Lake Tahoe was truly one for the books. They turned it into a full-blown adventure weekend—exploring the lake, chasing fall colors, and just soaking up every single moment together. These two were so laid-back and down for anything, which made their day feel effortless and insanely fun. From golden aspens and stargazing on the beach to a nightcap at In-N-Out, they made their day so intentional to them.

How They Met & Their Engagement Story
They met at work, and while Miguel’s Game of Thrones obsession caught her attention, it was their shared love for adventure that brought them closer. After chatting about a Colorado trip, Miguel invited Ayra to hang out, and their friendship quickly blossomed into something more.
Their love for exploring the world led them to Japan, where Miguel proposed at Ashikaga Flower Park, surrounded by stunning wisterias. It was the perfect engagement-moon—filled with theme parks, classes, and unforgettable memories.

Saying ‘I Do’ in a Golden Aspen Grove
Ayra and Miguel’s elopement started at their cozy North Tahoe Airbnb, where we captured all their little details and special souvenirs from their adventure in Tahoe thus far. They had their first look outside in the woods. It was so sweet!
Then we packed up all their layers, food, and more into the car and drove off to their ceremony location. About halfway there we realized we’d forgotten her bouquet…But in true relaxed bride style, she just laughed it off and said, “No worries! We’ll grab pics with it tomorrow. Let’s go get married!”
The ceremony spot was a short hike through a golden-lit aspen grove that looked absolutely magical. The moment we stepped in, Ayra and Miguel were speechless. These two set up a phone to record and I had the honor of officiating. Their vows were personal and heartfelt, filled with inside jokes and references to their favorite shows/movies—Lord of the Rings, Disney, Game of Thrones—making the moment truly theirs. As they sealed the deal, a gust of wind swept through, sending leaves swirling around them—nature’s way of cheering them on!

Sunset on the Beach & Dancing Under the Stars
After the ceremony, we made our way to Tahoe’s East Shore for their celebratory beach picnic, featuring a Whole Foods cake, Hot Cheetos, and sparkling cider. It was the perfect romantic spot, complete with (battery operated) candles and a blanket set up to watch the sunset. These two soaked up the golden hour light before transitioning into blue hour with lanterns. Since it was just the two of them, they Facetimed their family and friends to make the moment even more special—watching their loved ones cheer them on from across the miles was absolutely heartwarming.
As the last bits of light dipped from the sky these two danced under the stars to a wedding playlist they’d made together on Spotify with their first song, Warm With You by Hayden Calnin. It was such a beautiful, intimate moment.

The Perfect Ending
The night wrapped up with another adventure: we packed up their cake picnic and hiked down a steep trail to a secluded shoreline. Just them, the stars, and the sound of the lake. They scrambled over boulders with headlamps, and were treated to Milky Way views—and even a sighting of comet ATLAS. These photos were some of the most important to Ayra & Miguel! They really wanted to experience the vastness and importance of this day with the whole galaxy looking on.
Of course, no perfect day ends without a good meal. We hit up In-N-Out in Carson City for a late-night wedding dinner! Couldn’t have scripted a better ending.

Planning Your Own Lake Tahoe Elopement? Here’s How to Make It Yours!
If reading this makes you think, I need to do this, you’re not alone! Elopements are all about creating an experience that feels as you as possible. Here are some ways to plan your own unique Tahoe adventure:
1. Choose a Location That Speaks to You
Whether it’s the majestic mountains, a serene beach, or a secluded forest(or a day full of it all!)—pick a location that feels right. It should be somewhere you both connect with, and maybe even have a fun hiking adventure to get there! Need help choosing? I’ve been exploring this area since I was a kid (my family has been in North Tahoe since my great grandparents!) and have so many unique suggestions!
2. Make a Weekend of It
Why limit your adventure to just one day? Plan a weekend getaway with hiking, stargazing, or even hot air balloon rides. Your elopement is the perfect excuse for an extended adventure.
3. Incorporate Personal Elements
Add personal touches that are meaningful to you both—custom playlists, handwritten vows, or even your favorite snacks (Flaming Hot Cheetos, anyone?). This makes the day feel even more unique.
4. Ditch the “Rules“
Who says you need to follow tradition? No aisle? No shoes? Perfect. Your elopement should feel free and true to your vibe, not bound by a checklist.
5. Soak It All In
Elopements are about slowing down and being fully present. Skip the strict timelines and just enjoy every moment—this day is yours to make however you want.
